The optimal functioning of the human hematopoietic system is directly related to the state of bone marrow cells. The optimal function of these cells depends on the intensity of protein synthesis in them. Protein biosynthesis is the process of forming new proteins in cells, through which gene expression is carried out – of fundamental importance for all living organisms. In this process, proteins are built from amino acids according to genetic information. It is necessary for the growth and performance of the main functions of cells. Proteins regulate all important functions in the body.
Protein synthesis occurs efficiently in a young organism. Accordingly, organs and systems usually function well. In cellular protein metabolism, proteins are broken down into smaller fractions – peptides. These peptides regulate many cellular processes, including the cell cycle, gene expression (protein synthesis) and the response to oxidative stress.
In a young body with a normal intensity of protein synthesis, bone marrow peptides are produced in sufficient quantities. Unfortunately, with age, as well as under the influence of various harmful factors, the intensity of this process decreases significantly. This means that the older we get or the stronger the load on the hematopoietic system, the lower the intensity of protein synthesis in bone marrow cells. Under these conditions, fewer peptides are produced, which can lead to damage and disruption of cell function.
Missing regulatory peptides from the bone marrow can be restored by taking animal peptides from the same tissue. It has been established that short peptides are identical in all mammals and humans, which is why animal peptides are accepted by the human body as its own. In addition, they have tissue specificity – they can penetrate only into the cells of the tissue from which they originate. Bone marrow peptides are absorbed only by bone marrow cells and do not interact with other cell types.
When using PCC-20, the pool of regulatory peptides in the bone marrow tissue is enriched. The qualitative and quantitative presence of regulatory peptides in these cells is of crucial importance for the normal function of the bone marrow and, accordingly, for the hematopoietic system as a whole.
